In 2004, Rauriki Charolais purchased their first females from Pouriwai Stud in Gisborne. They picked twelve 'R2 Heifers' that were in calf to Pouriwai S335 and newly imported French bull, Laurel.  Since this first purchase of heifers from Pouriwai, cows and heifers have been purchased from six other Charolais studs throughout the country, paying particular regard to obtaining cattle that have a ''red factor" background or are in calf to "red factor" bulls.  Rauriki's primary objective is to breed moderate, sound and functional bulls with exceptional temperament . » Find Out More




2018 Rauriki Sale Catalogue

After winning PBBnz Champion of Champions at 2017 Beef Expo, there was high demand for Rauriki Charolais R2 bulls. As we sold all bulls before Sale Catalogue time, we didn't produce a 2017 Sale Catalogue.

Rauriki Charolais 2018 - Newsletter

Over the last year Rauriki Charolais has seen many changes. We have more than doubled our farm size, with the sale of “Waikopiro” and the purchase of “Pukerua.” We are still in the summer safe Tararua, where we now have a land holding of 660 Hectare freehold and 400 hectare free lease with the right's to purchase.  Daniel Poynton was employed by the Farm as our 2IC. Dan came from Taupo where he worked on Lochinver Station, and previously Maungahina Stud. Dan is a valued member of the team.
